NEXTGEN Banking Nordics 2017

Winning strategies for the new reality

16 November 2017

Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre, Stockholm, Sweden

The Agenda

The financial services industry is at a tipping point between the old world and the new, and “nextgen banking” is about to become a reality.

PSD2 comes into force in January 2018 and with it the era of open banking really begins. Financial institutions old and new will have to roll out the products and services they have been developing in preparation for this seismic change.

They will also have to deal with the real concerns and requirements of customers newly empowered with the freedom to think differently about how to manage their financial lives.

At the same time, all the critical elements required to ensure the continued safety and robustness of the financial services industry – such as security and digital identity management – must be in place and able to work in anger, without compromising the customer experience that is all-important in the digital world.

Key technologies like AI must move out of the sandbox and into production if financial services firms are to leverage them to the max to improve productivity and sharpen competitive edge.

And the talk about fintech collaboration will have to evolve quickly into action if banks are to successfully fend off the threat of new entrants, while also empowering their own businesses – and their customers – with the innovative new capabilities that fintechs make possible.

In short, the time for thinking about what nextgen banking might look like has passed, and the time for transforming into a truly digital bank is here.

At this critical point, Finextra’s NextGen Banking: Nordics 2017 will bring together more than 500 industry leaders from traditional and new banks, fintechs, established technology providers and other key industry stakeholders and influencers.

This comprehensive and inclusive event will explore, through a series of keynotes and panel sessions, the opportunities and challenges financial institutions face as they prepare for an era of truly digital banking. Topics to be debated during the event will include:

  • Open Banking: can banks win through collaboration based on open APIs and data sharing?
  • PSD2: what happens next?
  • Bank/fintech collaboration: is it really possible?
  • AI and machine learning: hype or reality?
  • Digital identity: what’s needed and how will we get there?
  • New business models: what are banks’ options?
  • Customer focus: what do customers want from nextgen banking – and which players can give it to them?

The future of banking in the Nordics is almost here, and any player with ambitions to remain relevant will need the right business model and the right technology in place to underpin a winning strategy for success in the new reality.

Join us at NextGen Banking: Nordics 2017 in Stockholm to gain actionable insights into how to align these key factors - so you can capitalise on the strengths of your existing business, while carving out a distinctive value proposition to win in the digital banking age.
